Amylase & Lipase
This is abdomen pain related tests mainly focus your pancreas health
Service Description
Blood amylase and lipase tests are both used to evaluate the function of the pancreas and to help diagnose conditions like pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), pancreatic cancer, or other disorders that affect the digestive system. Normal range: The normal levels of amylase in the blood can vary depending on the laboratory, but typically they range from about 30 to 110 units per liter (U/L). Elevated amylase levels can indicate conditions like acute pancreatitis, mumps (which affects the salivary glands), or other issues affecting the pancreas or digestive system. Low amylase levels may suggest chronic pancreatitis or liver disease. Normal range: Lipase levels typically range from about 10 to 140 U/L, but this can vary by laboratory. Elevated lipase levels are most commonly associated with acute pancreatitis or pancreatic injury. Low lipase levels are less commonly problematic, but can occasionally be seen in severe liver disease or certain genetic conditions.
