Kidney Function with EGFR (KFT/RFT)
Know Your Kidney's Health Condition.
Service Description
A kidney profile, also known as a renal panel or kidney function test, is a group of blood tests that measure various substances in your blood to assess the health and function of your kidneys. These tests are used to evaluate how well the kidneys are filtering waste, maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, and regulating certain functions in the body. Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) Purpose: The eGFR is a calculation based on your age, gender, race, BUN, and creatinine levels. It estimates how well your kidneys are filtering waste from the blood. Normal eGFR: A value of 90 or higher typically indicates normal kidney function. Low eGFR: A value below 60 for three months or more suggests kidney damage or chronic kidney disease. A value under 15 may indicate kidney failure and the need for dialysis or a kidney transplant.
