Typhoid Antigen IgM Test : The Typhoid IgM test detects IgM antibodies against Salmonella typhi, the bacteria that causes typhoid fever. IgM antibodies are usually the first to appear during an active infection. Purpose: Diagnose early or recent typhoid fever Differentiate typhoid from other febrile illnesses Help guide timely treatment Key Points: IgM Positive → Likely recent or active infection Usually becomes detectable 3–5 days after infection Done using a blood sample May be used alongside the Widal test or Typhoid IgG for a clearer picture It is a rapid and specific test, especially useful in early diagnosis of typhoid fever.
